Lead Story

Florida State soccer wrapped up its sixth ACC Tournament title and fifth in six years on Sunday with a thrilling 3-2 victory over North Carolina in the ACC Championship.

Throughout the ACC Tournament, FSU knocked off the top three seeds and built a very impressive resume’ against quality opponents. The Seminoles will learn their NCAA Tournament fate on Monday at 4:30 p.m. EST when the brackets are unveiled.

The NCAA Tournament slate for FSU will undoubtedly begin in Tallahassee, but it remains to be seen how long — if at all — before it has to go on the road. Florida State was eliminated in the round of 16 by eventual national champion Stanford last season.

Between the Lines

In addition to FSU’s ACC soccer title on Sunday, FSU men’s tennis wrapped up the Dick Vitale Intercollegiate on Sunday. FSU volleyball pulled a 4-set road upset of Louisville.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Monday.

News and Notes

The ACC has declared a 6-day hold for Florida State’s ACC finale against Boston College.

The ACC will announce players of the week for various sports on Monday.

FSU soccer earned a No. 1 seed and will face Loyola-Chicago to open the NCAA Tournament on Nov. 9, 10 or 11.
