For a second straight season, Florida State will finish ACC play with a losing record. No. 21 NC State sealed that fate for the Seminoles on Saturday with a 47-28 victory at Carter-Finley Stadium.

The Wolfpack (6-2, 3-2 ACC) led from the opening drive and punted just twice in the victory. Quarterback Ryan Finley passed for 240 yards and three touchdowns. Reggie Gallaspy II eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark for NC State while Ricky Person added a pair of scores on the ground.

In his first start of the season, Florida State quarterback James Blackman passed for 421 yards, four touchdowns and an interception. Two of those scoring strikes went to Tamorrion Terry, who finished with a game-high 142 yards receiving. D.J. Matthews caught 10 passes for 133 yards and a score for FSU (4-5, 2-5 ACC) in the loss. Jakobi Meyers finished with nine catches for 125 yards and a touchdown for NC State.

Self-destruction was again a theme for the Seminoles as they turned the ball over twice and finished with 16 penalties for 121 yards. Florida State finished with 445 yards of offense to 417 for NC State, but the Wolfpack minimized mistakes, was able to run the ball and played turnover-free. NC State has defeated Florida State in consecutive years for the first time since 2005 and 2006.

FSU will play its final road game of the year next week as it heads to South Bend to take on Notre Dame on Saturday. NC State will have a short week to prepare for visiting Wake Forest.
