Lead Story

With just over a week until the start of the regular season, Florida State’s women’s hoops triumphed over Flagler College in an exhibition on Sunday afternoon, 101-49.

Kiah Gillespie finished with 24 points for the new-look Seminoles and led five FSU players in double-figures. Nausia Woolfolk added 19 points and Valencia Myers chipped in with 17. Sayawni Lassiter and Nicki Ekhomu finished with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

As a team, FSU shot 58 percent from the field. Five different FSU players tied for a team-high with five rebounds. Chris Wilson led Flagler with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

FSU opens the regular season against Troy on Nov. 6.

Between the Lines

FSU volleyball collected a straight set victory over Virginia Tech on Sunday. FSU soccer blanked Duke in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals, 1-0. FSU women’s golf began the Jim West Challenge.

On the Agenda

FSU women’s golf will wrap up the Jim West Challenge on Monday.

News and Notes

The ACC will announce players of the week for various sports.

ABC will televise FSU’s football contest at NC State on Saturday.

FSU soccer will face Virginia in the ACC semifinals at 8 p.m. EST on Friday.
