It’s Sunday, Florida State fans. As the weekend comes to a close, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State had an afternoon to forget on Saturday as the Seminoles were downright embarrassed by No. 2 Clemson, 59-10. Despite a Saturday to forget, the contest did include a couple memorable firsts for two FSU true freshmen.

Cornerback A.J. Lytton recorded his first career interception with FSU way behind in the fourth quarter on an outstanding play in the end zone to thwart a Clemson drive. Florida State wide receiver Keyshawn Helton would become the second Seminole in as many weeks to score his first career touchdown — on a 73-yard toss from James Blackman.

The pass was also the first scoring strike this season for Blackman. Both Helton and Lytton could see more playing time as the 2018 regular season enters its final month.

FSU football was defeated by Clemson on Saturday afternoon, 59-10.
