The Daily Nole — Oct. 9, 2018: Hurricane Threat Cancels FSU Athletic Events

It’s Tuesday, Florida State fans. As your work week moves closer to an end, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

With Hurricane Michael possibly headed for Tallahassee, Florida State was forced to cancel two home athletic events for the week.

The FSU invitational cross country meet and the FSU baseball garnet and gold scrimmage, which were both scheduled for Friday, have been called off and will not be made up. How FSU soccer’s match scheduled for Friday night against NC State is addressed remains to be seen.

Florida was declared to be in a state of emergency on Monday. FSU has closed the university through Sunday.

FSU men’s golf began the Jack Nicklaus Collegiate Invitational on Monday.
