The Daily Nole — Sept. 13, 2018: FSU Baseball Finishes with No. 3 Recruiting Class

As Florida State head coach Mike Martin prepares for his 40th and final season in Tallahassee, he’ll have no shortage of incoming talent.

According to Baseball America, the Seminoles will be bringing in the No. 3 national recruiting class, which is behind only LSU and Vanderbilt. Louisville and Florida rounded out the top 5.

FSU has six of Baseball America’s top 400 prospects coming in, headlined by infielder Nander de Sedas. The rest consists of outfielder Elijah Cabell, catcher Matheu Nelson, infielder Alec Sanchez, outfielder Robby Martin and infielder Cade Hungate.

After winning the ACC and earning a national seed, FSU dropped both games during the Tallahassee Regional last year. FSU had seven different players go on to be selected in the 2018 Major League Baseball Draft.

Between the Lines

Florida State volleyball fell at home to rival Florida on Wednesday night, 22-25, 22-25, 25-16, 19-25.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Thursday.
