Florida State’s 2019 commitment list got a bit smaller on Sunday evening, but that did not affect the Seminoles’ standing in the 247Sports Composite rankings.

FSU remains No. 8 nationally for 2019 after the flip of Mike Morris. Rather than Tallahassee, Morris looks to take his talents to Ann Arbor and play for Michigan.

Listed as a defensive end, the FSU staff had planned for Morris to flip the offensive side of the ball. The Seminoles are talent-rich at defensive end already with Quashon Fuller, Derick Hunter, Curtis Fann and Derrick McLendon all committed for 2019. FSU is also in the hunt for Kayvon Thibodeaux, the nation’s No. 1 overall player.

Morris is listed as the No. 22 strongside defensive end by the 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s a 4-star prospect and the No. 322 overall recruit, according to the Composite.

Of the listed defensive end commitments for FSU, Morris ranked higher than only McLendon. Hunter is expected to play defensive tackle at the next level. The subtraction of Morris gives Florida State a total of 16 players committed for 2019.
