The Daily Nole — Aug. 11, 2018: FSU Agrees to Multi-Year Deal to Practice at IMG

It’s the weekend, Florida State fans. As your day off goes along, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State hits the road Sunday for practice at IMG Academy in Bradenton. It’ll be the first time that FSU leaves Tallahassee this fall, but in the years to come, it will be a routine stop.

According to multiple reports, Florida State has signed a multi-year deal to practice at the school, which has been a hot bed for recruits. The Seminoles will practice there this coming week from Monday through Thursday.

FSU has multiple players and current commitments who have hailed from IMG Academy. Among those are redshirt junior quarterback Deondre Francois, junior kicker Ricky Aguayo and sophomore defensive end Joshua Kaindoh. Current 4-star commitments Dontae Lucas, a guard, and Jaleel McRae, a linebacker, currently play at IMG.

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Saturday.

4-star small forward Terrence Shannon, Jr. has FSU in his top 4, along with Illinois, Maryland DePaul.

FSU football players will sing the school fight song with the Marching Chiefs following wins this season.
