Two Florida State players are on the watch list for the most prestigious award in college soccer.

Junior forward Deyna Castellanos and defender Natalia Kuikka, a senior, were among 45 players to make the preseason watch list for the MAC Hermann Trophy, according to a release from Thursday. Castellanos led the Seminoles with 19 goals last season while Kuikka, who finished with a goal, is more known for her defense.

The winner of the award will be announced on Jan. 4 at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis. The lone FSU player to win the honor was Mami Yamaguchi in 2007.
