The 2018 Florida State football media guide has been released and as of now, players have still not reverted back to the single-digit numbers.

New head coach Willie Taggart implemented the change in the spring, explaining that players with jersey numbers between 1 and 10 would have to earn them back. As of now, that has not happened.

Sophomore quarterback James Blackman and junior cornerback Levonta Taylor, who each previously wore No. 1, remained No. 13 and No. 28, respectively. Sophomore running back Cam Akers remains No. 23 after wearing No. 3 and setting an FSU freshman rushing record last season. Khalan Laborn, a redshirt freshman running back, remains No. 21 after donning No. 4 last season.

Linebacker Dontavious Jackson’s switch from No. 5 to No. 16 remains intact. He’ll share that number with tight end Tre’ McKitty, who previously wore No. 6.

Last season’s leading receiver, Nyqwan Murray, will go back to No. 80, which he wore his first three years on campus after wearing No. 8 last season and No. 11 during the spring. Cornerback Stanford Samuels III, who also wore No. 8 last season, is listed at No. 18. Jacques Patrick, a senior running back, will remain No. 19 after wearing No. 9 last season.
