The Daily Nole — July 5, 2018: FSU Ranks High Among Schools Producing Most Draft Talent

Florida State has had little trouble putting players in the leagues.

According a story from ESPN from Tuesday, the Seminoles ranked 13th when it comes to professional talent drafted. The list looked at the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS, WNBA, MLL (lacrosse) and NFP (softball).

From 2012-14, Florida State set a 3-year record for players chosen in the NFL Draft. Most recently, FSU had seven players selected in the Major League Baseball Draft.

North Carolina topped the list. FSU was fifth among ACC schools behind the Tar Heels, Duke, Syracuse and Notre Dame.

News and Notes

FSU pitcher C.J. Van Eyk did not make the National Collegiate Team’s final 26-man roster.

Van Eyk was named a Freshman All-American by D1Baseball on Thursday.

FSU running back Cam Akers and defensive end Brian Burns will represent the Seminoles at ACC Kickoff later this month.
