The Daily Nole Poll is back this week and it is looking forward to football season.

In the latest poll, which had 117 responses, we asked readers and Twitter followers which Florida State true freshman would have the biggest impact on the FSU defense this season. The results were overwhelming.

90 percent of the audience picked safety Jaiden Woodbey. Woodbey, a former 5-star prospect out of California, was an afterthought for the Seminoles for much of the 2018 recruiting cycle, but was offered a scholarship shortly after Willie Taggart took over as head coach and committed soon after.

An early enrollee, Woodbey led all players with nine tackles during April’s spring game to go with a sack. Woodbey is expected to see the field right away at safety, sharing time with the likes of Cyrus Fagan and Hamsah Nasirildeen.

The only other player to get any significant traction was linebacker Xavier Peters, who garnered 7 percent of the vote. Peters is exceptionally talented, but there are still questions about whether or not he’ll qualify.

Defensive tackle Robert Cooper earned 2 percent as he’s expected to be a run-stuffer during his time in Tallahassee. Anthony Lytton, one of three 4-star cornerbacks signed by FSU, received 1 percent.

We’ll have another poll at a later date.
