Expansion didn’t happen this year as expected for a nonprofit run by three former Florida State wide receivers, but this year’s set of camps are set to get underway this month.

This year’s Nole Legends camps will take place in Tallahassee, Orlando and Fort Walton Beach. The Florida Panhandle location last year was in Pensacola.

The nonprofit is run by a trio of very accomplished former Florida State receivers in E.G. Green, Andre Cooper and Kez McCorvey. All three rank in the top 20 all-time at FSU in receiving yards and touchdown catches. McCorvey was the leading receiver on FSU’s 1993 national championship team while in 1995, Green and Cooper became the first duo in school-history to finish with 1,000 receiving in the same season. Those three will be at all the camps, but other former Seminoles are expected to show.

“Now that a lot of former guys know about us, we expect this to grow,” Green said. “Every year, we want to bring in more and more legends — some to coach and some just to share their experience. There’ll definitely be more this year than last.”

Things get started with the Tallahassee camp on June 22 and 23. The next two weekends will shift the scene to Orlando on June 29 and 30 and finally, Fort Walton Beach on July 6 and 7. The final of the three camps will cater to skill players.

Green anticipated adding camps in Jacksonville, Gainesville, Naples and Calhoun, Georgia this year. Although that didn’t come to fruition, he plans on doing so in the future.

About 50-60 children are expected to attend. The cost is $99 for the two days, which includes a meal for the final day. The camp is for youth, ages 8-17. To learn more or to register, visit the Nole Legends website by clicking here.

“We’re expecting to have another good circuit and touch lives,” Green said. “We’re looking to be good ambassadors for FSU and more importantly, try to make a difference. We’re basically using football as a vehicle to be a mentor.”
