This week’s edition of The Daily Nole Poll presented a basketball question to the Florida State faithful: Which player will lead the team in scoring for the upcoming 2018-19 season?

Our followers made it close, but in the end, they voted for senior guard Terance Mann to lead Florida State in scoring for the 2018-19 basketball season. Redshirt senior forward Phil Cofer and junior guard Trent Forrest finished in second and third place, respectively.

Mann led the Seminoles in that category for the majority of the 2017-18 campaign, but tailed off late while forward Phil Cofer came on strong. Cofer wound up averaging a team-high 12.8 points per game, which was slightly more than the 12.6 per contest averaged by Mann.

Cofer was recently given an extra year of eligibility after playing in just 11 games as a sophomore during the 2015-16 campaign, but his 30 percent was short of the 38 percent voters gave to Mann. Junior guard Trent Forrest was arguably FSU’s best player from February forward this past season.

Forrest received 25 percent of the vote. He averaged 7.9 points per game last season, but came on strong late.

The remaining 7 percent of voters said the leading scorer would be someone else. Among returning players not listed, Mfiondu Kabengele was the leading scorer at 7.2 points per game. We’ll have another poll for you next week.
