FSU Ranked Top 5 by Baseball America

Florida State baseball received a bump in the national polls after an ACC Tournament championship performance. Baseball America was the first of the major groups to move Florida State up in its most recent rankings released Monday morning.

Baseball America was the lone poll to keep FSU out of last week’s top-10, giving it a No. 13 ranking. Baseball America finally joined the rest of the group with its Monday morning update, putting the Seminoles at No. 5 in the nation.

Collegiate Baseball is less bullish on the Seminoles. It ranked FSU at No. 15 this week — up from the previous No. 16 spot.
NCBWA kept Florida State near the top of its rankings. The Seminoles are now No. 6 — up from No. 7 last week.

FSU moved up three spots in D1Baseball.com’s Poll, which was unveiled on Tuesday. Previously No. 9, the Seminoles are now No. 6.

Florida State rattled off four straight victories in the ACC Tournament this past week. Wins over Virginia, NC State, Clemson, and Louisville bolstered its resume and secured a regional hosting spot. We learned on Monday that it was also enough to grab a top-8 national seed for a super regional hosting gig.
The Seminoles finished 11-1 in their final 12 games to conclude the season. They enter NCAA postseason play with a 43-17 overall record.
