Florida State baseball advanced in the ACC Tournament after defeating the NC State Wolfpack 5-2 on Friday night in Durham.

The Seminoles win Pool C and will face the Clemson Tigers at 5 p.m. EST on Saturday afternoon to determine who plays in the championship game on Sunday. FSU has reached the title game in each of the last three seasons.

The Good: Florida State wasted no time getting its bats revved up tonight. The Seminoles recorded six hits and took a 4-0 lead after the first three innings. Those four runs essentially captured the victory early on, since they were outscored by NC State 2-1 after that.

The Bad: The Seminoles’ defense didn’t make it any easier with three errors and a .921 fielding percentage. One of those errors occurred in the fifth inning when center fielder J.C. Flowers was unable to field the ball properly. It allowed a runner on second base to come home for a run, along with the batter advancing to third. That runner would eventually score in the same inning.

The Ugly: NC State cycled through four pitchers in an attempt to slow down the Florida State offense. Even though they weren’t scoring at an impressive rate, the Seminoles still notched 10 hits for a .303 average. Their offense largely got what they wanted from the NC State pitching.

Studs of the Game: Cal Raleigh had another impressive game from the plate. He produced three hits, one home run, and three RBIs. Rhett Aplin wasn’t far behind with three hits and one RBI of his own. Drew Parrish answered the call for the Seminoles at the mound, going for the entire game and striking out 14 batters while allowing just two earned runs on five hits.

Duds of the Game: Brian Brown was the starting pitcher for the Wolfpack. He was unable to make it through the third inning after giving up six hits and four earned runs.

Extra Innings: Apparently Drake dropped a diss track towards Pusha T around the time the game started. Imagine how some of the players are going to react when they realize what they’ve been missing.
