By taking two of three from NC State over the weekend, Florida State earned the No. 6 seed for this year’s ACC Tournament in Durham and will begin play on Tuesday.

Florida State has won the ACC Tournament seven times, including twice in the last three seasons. The Seminoles have reached the tournament final in each of the last three years. Joining FSU in Pool C this year are third-seeded NC State and 10th-seeded Virginia.

The Seminoles open the conference tournament with Virginia at 3 p.m. EST on Tuesday. FSU and No. 10 seed Virginia didn’t meet during the regular season.

The Cavaliers took two of three from FSU last season in Tallahassee, but Florida State earned a 6-4 win in the last ACC Tournament contest between the teams in 2014. Virginia topped the Seminoles for the ACC Championship in 2011, 7-2.

FSU then moves on to face NC State on Friday at 7 p.m. EST. Florida State opened the recent 3-game series with a pair of walk-off extra-inning wins over the third-seeded Wolfpack. After Steven Wells hit a solo home run in the 11th inning to give FSU a 4-3 win over Thursday night, Reese Albert blasted a 3-run walk-off shot on Friday to propel the Seminoles to a 6-3 victory. NC State won the series finale on Saturday, 5-3.

The Seminoles topped the Wolfpack 7-3 to open the 2016 ACC Tournament. FSU also topped NC State for the ACC Championship in 2010 and 2015.

The winner of Pool C will face the winner of Pool B in the ACC Tournament semifinals on Saturday. Pool B is comprised of No. 2 seed Clemson, seventh-seeded Miami and No. 11 seed Notre Dame.

The winners of Pool A and Pool D will square off in the other semifinal. Pool A includes top-seeded North Carolina, eighth-seeded Georgia Tech and No. 12 seed Pittsburgh. Pool D consists of No. 4 seed Duke, No. 5 seed Louisville and ninth-seeded Wake Forest.

The championship game takes place on ESPN2 on Sunday. All other contests will be shown on ACC Network.
