The upset bug that bit Florida State’s women’s tennis team on Thursday avoided the men on Friday. In the ACC Tournament quarterfinals, the third-seeded Seminoles cruised past Duke, 4-1.

No. 6 seed Duke won the doubles point over FSU on Friday evening, but nothing else. Aziz Dougaz, Lucas Poullain and Alex Knaff all won in straight sets to give the Seminoles a 3-1 lead.

Jose Gracia clinched the match for Florida State with a 7-6, 7-5 win over Duke’s Robert Levine. Nick Stachowiak was the only Duke player to win a singles set. He and FSU’s Guy Iradukunda had completed just one game in the third set when the match ended.

With the victory, FSU improves to 27-3. The Seminoles will take on No. 2 seed North Carolina in the ACC semifinals on Saturday. The Tar Heels defeated seventh-seeded NC State on Friday, 4-0.
