What looked like an easy win for Florida State turned into anything but on Friday night at Boston College. FSU twice led by seven only to be forced to win the contest in 11 innings, 13-12. A bases loaded walk to Rafael Bournigal in the 11th put the Seminoles ahead for good.

The win is the third straight for the Seminoles and gets the club back to an even .500 in ACC play at 9-9. FSU will go for the series win as the teams play at Fenway Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Good: The bats stayed hot for Florida State on Friday night as the Seminoles scored 13 runs in the win. FSU scored multiple runs in four different innings and drew a total of 12 walks.

The Bad: The FSU bullpen continued to struggle to get outs. For a second straight ACC contest, the Seminoles let a ninth-inning lead slip away. Boston College was able to tie the game at 10 on a 2-run double from Anthony Maselli off of FSU reliever Conor Grady.

The Ugly: The Seminoles held an 8-1 lead in the fifth inning and a 10-3 lead in the seventh inning and still had to win the contest in extra innings. That was made possible in part by six errors that led to three unearned runs for the Eagles. FSU led 13-10 heading to the bottom of the 11th, but allowed two runs to score before getting the final out with the tying run at third base and the winning run at first.

Studs of the Game: Despite striking out three times at the plate, Jackson Lueck finished Friday night with two hits, including a home run and four RBIs. Steven Wells Jr. reached base five times, going 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs and two RBIs. Rhett Aplin and Drew Mendoza each had two hits and two runs scored for the Seminoles. Jack Cunningham was 3-for-6 for Boston College with four RBIs. Joe Suozzi homered and scored four runs for the Eagles in the loss.

Duds of the Game: FSU relievers Jonah Scolaro and Conor Grady combined to give up seven runs and six earned in four combined innings of work. Although he finished with a run and an RBI, FSU lead-off man Mike Salvatore was 0-for-6 at the dish. Nick Derr was 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts before being pulled for Cobi Johnson. Boston College starting pitcher Jacob Stevens allowed six runs while walking seven in four innings of work. Dante Baldelli was hitless in five at-bats with three strikeouts in the loss.
