Head coach Willie Taggart received another phone call on Monday night. 3-star cornerback Renardo Green announced on Twitter that he has committed to Florida State.

His offer was very recent — in fact, it was Monday night when defensive coordinator Harlon Barnett called and extended a scholarship. Green regards Florida State as his dream school, so he quickly pounced on the opportunity and committed. Green had visited this past weekend for the spring game.

The 3-star cornerback is from Apopka, Florida and goes to Wekiva High. He’s an aggressive player that excels at press coverage. It’s very likely that he gets a 4-star rating soon, as he is currently right below the threshold on the 247Sports composite rating for the distinction. He’s ranked as the 382nd overall player and 35th best cornerback.

Green’s commitment puts the Seminoles at No. 1 in both the ACC and overall team recruiting rankings for 2019. This marks 10 commitments for Florida State in its current class.
