The men will try their hand in Minneapolis this coming week, but Florida State women’s swimming and diving season came to an end over the four days of the NCAA Championships in Columbus.

Overall, the team performance wasn’t something to brag about, but FSU did claim All-American honors — all second-team — in three different events. The championships lasted Thursday through Saturday.

The first All-American honors for Florida State during the championships in Columbus came on Thursday as the Seminoles earned a second-team honor. The combination of seniors Lexi Smith, Natalie Pierce, Tayla Lovemore and freshman Madeline Cohen tied for 15th in the 400-yard medley relay.

Lovemore narrowly grabbed a second-team individual honor on Friday with a 16th place finish in the 100-yard butterfly. Sophomore Molly Carlson picked up the first diving All-American recognition with a 15th place finish in the 3-meter dive on Friday evening.

As a team, the Seminoles finished just 42nd overall. Stanford won the national championship by a wide margin, finishing with 593 points — 220 more than second-place California. The Cardinal and Golden Bears finish first and second, respectively, for a second straight year.
