Florida State is expected to dominate the ACC on the diamond in 2018 — both the baseball and softball diamonds.

After FSU baseball was projected to do likewise earlier in the day, FSU softball has been projected by the conference’s coaches to win the ACC on Tuesday. The Seminoles have won four straight regular season and ACC Tournament titles.

FSU will have some key pieces to replace such as first baseman Alex Powers, catcher Sydney Broderick and infielder Ellie Cooper, but does return lead-off hitter Morgan Kalevemann and reigning ACC Player of the Year, Jessie Warren. All-ACC performer Meghan King and Florida Atlantic transfer Kylee Hanson will have to alleviate the loss of Jessica Burroughs in the circle.

FSU received 11 of a possible 12 first-place votes with the only other going to North Carolina. The Seminoles beat the Tar Heels for last season’s conference crown.

FSU opens the 2018 season against Portland State in San Marcos, Texas on Friday. To view the release, click here.
