A long-awaited member of Tribe 18 made it official Wednesday, as 4-star wide receiver Warren Thompson announced that he had chosen the Florida State Seminoles over the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Thompson has had a long history with the Seminoles. He comes from Armwood High School in Seffner and was originally recruited by Jimbo Fisher. Despite many assuming him to be an FSU lock, he committed to Oregon back in June.

When Willie Taggart left Eugene for Tallahassee, Thompson was one of the first to decommit. Thompson did hesitate at first with joining Taggart at Florida State, but Taggart and crew eventually won him over after his Dec. 15 official visit.

At 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, Thompson is listed by the 247Sports Composite rankings as the No. 156 overall prospect for 2018, the 28th best receiver and the No. 27 prospect from Florida. Thompson becomes the 15th member of FSU’s 2018 class and the second wide receiver, joining 3-star D’Marcus Adams.

FSU entered the day with the No. 17 overall class for 2018, according to the Composite. The addition of Thompson moves the Seminoles up two spots to 15th.
