3-star defensive end Stacy Kirby announced on Monday afternoon that he decided to decommit from Florida State.

Kirby committed to the Seminoles back in February and has visited the school three times since. His note says that with the recent coaching change, Kirby and the Florida State staff decided to go different routes.

Kirby was considered a high-upside prospect. He had gained a slew of offers from bigger programs shortly before committing back in February. He is ranked as the 29th overall defensive end prospect and 94th best Florida prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Florida State has lost nine commits since the beginning of November. According to 247Sports’ Composite team rankings, the 2018 FSU class is now 37th in the nation with just 10 total commits. It entered the day ranked 32nd.

Coaching uncertainty after the departure of Jimbo Fisher means that many recruits will be looking around for their best fit. New Florida State had coach Willie Taggart has promised to salvage the recruiting class.
