The Daily Nole — Nov. 13, 2017: FSU Volleyball Celebrates Senior Day Sweep

It’s Monday, Florida State fans. As you head back to work, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. We’ll update the news and notes section of this post throughout the day.

Lead Story

In what will be Florida State volleyball’s final home match of the season, the Seminoles celebrated Senior Day in style with a straight set victory over Boston College.

FSU defeated the Eagles on Sunday, 25-20, 25-17, 25-13. In what will be her final home match, senior Milica Kubura finished with 11 kills to lead the Seminoles. Cat Balido finished with a match-high 12 kills to lead Boston College. Senior libero Cecilie Woie finished with 11 digs to lead FSU while junior Brianne Burkert added 25 assists.

With the win, FSU improved to 14-10 on the year and an even 8-8 in ACC play. The Seminoles will play their final four matches of the regular season on the road.

Between the Lines

In addition to volleyball, FSU women’s basketball used a 20-0 third quarter run on Sunday to top Jacksonville State, 75-51.

On the Agenda

FSU men’s tennis will be in Pensacola for the USTA Pro Circuit on Monday.

News and Notes

The ACC will announce players of the week for various sports on Monday.

The Nov. 25 contest between Florida State and Florida will begin at noon EST and air on ESPN.
