Marquez White Selected 216th Overall by the Dallas Cowboys

Former Florida State cornerback Marquez White was chosen 216th overall in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday.

The 2016 season did not necessarily go how people expected it to for the Seminoles. That is especially true for Marquez White.

Once projected as a potential second round cornerback, a worse-than-expected 2016 highlighted some of the flaws in his game. White still has a ton of talent and his length can turn him into a reliable starter at the next level. But his strength is questionable and it’s not clear if he’s going to transition all that well at the beginning of his pro career.

White still left Florida State as a good starter and was arguably underrated in 2015. The Seminoles are going to have to replace a player who started 26 games and was more than competent. White finished his FSU career with four interceptions, including two last season.
