FSU Women’s Golf Finishes Second at ACC Championships

Florida State was the highest ranked team at the ACC Women’s Golf Championships in Pawley’s Island, South Carolina, but the Seminoles will have to settle for second place.

The 3-day tournament came to a close on Saturday with FSU finishing nine strokes behind conference champion Duke. The Seminoles finished +1 for the day and +4 for the championships.

Lydia Gumm was the top finisher for FSU at -1, shooting a 215 for the tournament and finishing tied for fourth overall. FSU’s Kim Metraux was tied for first entering the day, but was seven over in the final round. Duke’s Leona Maguire was the individual winner with a 210 or -6 for the tournament.

In order behind Duke and FSU were Miami, North Carolina, Clemson, N.C. State, Louisville, Virginia, Boston College and Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and finally Wake Forest. The Eagles and Fighting Irish tied for ninth.

Up next for FSU will be the NCAA Regional Championships. Those begin May 8.
