It’s Monday, Florida State fans. For those of you returning to work, we’ll try to help get you through the day. The news and notes section will be updated.

Lead Story

Florida State softball remained perfect in ACC play following a 3-game sweep of Syracuse. After beating the Orange 18-9 on Saturday, FSU swept a doubleheader on Sunday to close the series.

Jessica Warren, Sydney Broderick and Cali Harrod all homered as the Seminoles took the first game that was called after five innings, 13-4. FSU however, felt some resistance in the second game.

The Seminoles trailed 5-4 after five innings on Sunday, but used a 2-run home run from Harrod to go ahead for good. After a rough outing from starter Meghan King, Jessica Burroughs worked four innings of scoreless relief to get the win.

For the year, the top-ranked Seminoles are now 38-1-1. FSU will visit Florida on Wednesday before taking on South Carolina on the road Friday and Saturday.

Between the Lines

In addition to softball, FSU men’s golf finished third at the Irish Creek Intercollegiate, but Cristobal Del Solar and Josh Lee finished first and second individually. FSU men’s tennis beat Boston College, 7-0. FSU baseball dropped the rubber game at N.C. State, 8-4.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Monday.
