FSU Hoops Finishes 24th in Coaches Poll

For the first time in five years, Florida State will finished ranked in the final USA Today Coaches Poll.

The poll, which was unveiled on Tuesday, listed the Seminoles as the No. 24 team in the country. FSU finished the year 26-9 and reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2011-12 season when it closed the year at No. 15.

The college basketball season came to a close on Monday night as North Carolina defeated Gonzaga for the national championship, 71-65. FSU’s season has been over for more than two weeks when it was defeated by Xavier in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, 91-66.

The FSU women finished seventh in the USA Today Coaches Poll and 10th in the AP Poll. The Seminoles fell to eventual national champion South Carolina in the Elite Eight, 71-64.
