The deepest outing for a Florida State starting pitcher this season took place on Saturday and from an unlikely source. It wasn’t Tyler Holton or Cole Sands, but freshman Drew Parrish who went the distance as the Seminoles topped Notre Dame to complete a 3-game sweep on Saturday, 5-1.

The win was the fourth straight for FSU following a stretch where the Seminoles lost four out of five. With the sweep of the Fighting Irish, the Seminoles improved to 18-7 and 6-3 in ACC play.

The Good: For a third straight game, Florida State got an outstanding effort from its starting pitcher. Drew Parrish went the distance for Florida State, allowing just an unearned run on three hits while striking out seven and walking one.

The Bad: An error on Nick Derr in the third inning allowed Notre Dame to score its only run, an unearned one, which broke up the shutout.

The Ugly: Notre Dame offensively had a series to forget, scoring just six total runs over the three games. Entering the contest, FSU had allowed at least nine runs in three straight games.

Studs of the Game: Drew Parrish’s complete game 3-hitter stole the show, but Jackson Lueck was 2-for-5 with a home run, run scored and two RBIs. Rhett Aplin also had two hits and a solo homer in the win.

Duds of the Game: Six different Notre Dame hitters went 0-for-3 on the day. For FSU, Nick Derr was 0-for-2 with two strikeouts and an error in the field.
