FSU Freshman Jonathan Isaac Enters NBA Draft

Florida State freshman forward Jonathan Isaac became the third FSU player in three days to declare for the NBA Draft.

Isaac announced his intentions to go pro on Friday. Dwayne Bacon announced Wednesday that will would forego his junior year and on Thursday, Xavier Rathan-Mayes announced that he would not be returning to school.

In his only season at FSU, Isaac averaged 12 points, nearly eight rebounds and 1.5 blocks. Isaac was efficient from the field, shooting nearly 51 percent and almost 35 percent from beyond the 3-point arc.

Projected to be a lottery pick, Isaac considered taking advantage of a loophole and entering the draft last year, but ultimately elected to honor his commitment. In 32 games this past season, Isaac scored in double-figures 21 times, including a career-night against Notre Dame on Jan. 18 when he finished with 23 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks.

Isaac becomes the second player in FSU history to enter the draft after his true freshman season. The first was Malik Beasley last season. The NBA Draft will be held on June 22.
