After leading Florida State in scoring in each of his two years on campus, Dwayne Bacon will be taking his talents to the next level.

In posts on Twitter and Instagram on Wednesday, Bacon announced that he would forego his junior year and enter the NBA Draft. Bacon flirted with the idea after last season, but returned for a sophomore year to help Florida State set a school-record for regular season wins and tie previous bests for seeding in the ACC and NCAA Tournaments.

This past season, Bacon averaged better than 17 points per game and more than four rebounds. This came after leading the Seminoles in both categories during the 2015-16 season.

Bacon improved immensely as a jump-shooter as a sophomore and scored in double-figures in 34 of the Seminoles’ 35 games. Bacon exceeded the 20-point mark 10 times, including in each of FSU’s two NCAA Tournament games.

Twice this season, Bacon scored a career-high 29 points, including a Dec. 31 contest against Virginia where he hit the game-winning 3-pointer with two seconds remaining. Bacon shot better than 45 percent from the field as a sophomore.

Most project Bacon as a second round pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. The draft will be held on June 22.
