For the third straight season, Florida State forward Shakayla Thomas will be taking home a nice piece of hardware from the ACC, but this time, it’s a little more prestigious.

Thomas, a 5-11 forward from Alabama, has been named the ACC Player of the Year by the conference’s coaches. Thomas was named to the conference’s first team last week by a Blue Ribbon Panel.

Thomas has led the Seminoles this season, averaging 14.8 points on better than 50 percent shooting to go with 5.3 rebounds per game. Thomas was named the conference’s Sixth Player of the Year in each of the last two seasons.

Thomas also landed on the coaches’ All-ACC first team. Leticia Romero, who was named a first-teamer by the Blue Ribbon Panel last week, found herself on the coaches’ second team.

Brittany Brown earned a spot on the conference’s All-Defensive team. Brown led the Seminoles this past season with 78 steals or 2.5 per game.
