Florida State freshman guard Trent Forrest was among 27 players named to the ACC’s All-Academic team on Wednesday.

A 6-5 guard from Chipley, Forrest is a sports management major. According to a release, an athlete must maintain a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and have a cumulative 3.0 for his or her academic career. Miami senior Davon Reed was the winner of the Skip Prosser Award.

Just a freshman, Forrest has also made quite an impact on the court, averaging 5.5 points per game on 49 percent shooting and three rebounds. Perhaps the biggest impact made by Forrest this season has been on the defensive end. Forrest’s 1.4 steals per game average is among the ACC’s leaders in that category.
