Despite a meltdown on Tuesday night in a 4-2 loss to South Florida, Florida State remained in the top 5 in some of the major polls. FSU bounced back over the weekend with a 3-game sweep of Samford as the Seminoles outscored the Bulldogs, 37-7 over the three games.

FSU’s ranking was unchanged in the Baseball America and D1Baseball.com Polls. In the Baseball America Poll, the Seminoles remained No. 2. In the D1Baseball Poll, FSU sat firm at No. 3.

In the Collegiate Baseball Poll, FSU fell one spot from No. 9 to No. 10. The Seminoles also fell one spot in the NCBWA Poll from fourth to fifth.

Florida State will play four games this week, including a visit to Jacksonville on Tuesday. That will be FSU’s first road game this season and a contest head coach Mike Martin dubbed the toughest yet. The Seminoles then return home to begin a 3-game series against Oakland on Friday.
