Florida State’s 19th-ranked men’s basketball team is now one victory away from its first perfect home slate in more than four decades. Despite traveling back from Pittsburgh on short rest, the Seminoles blasted Boston College at the Donald L. Tucker Center on Monday night 104-72 to end a 2-game losing streak.

FSU leading scorer Dwayne Bacon bounced back from a scoreless effort against Pittsburgh to lead the team with 16 points and eclipse the 1,000-point mark for his career in the process. P.J. Savoy scored 15. Jonathan Isaac added 14 points. Xavier Rathan-Mayes netted seven points to go with a season-high 10 assists.

It was domination from the start for FSU as the Seminoles (22-6, 10-5 ACC) scored the game’s first six points and led 55-31 at halftime. FSU opened the second half on a 14-2 run to put the game out of reach.

FSU hit the 100-point mark for the fifth time this season, shooting 54 percent in the process and reached double-digit wins in conference for the first time since the 2011-12 season. FSU also shot 12-for-29 from deep and for at least one night, corrected its free throw woes, going 14-for-17 from the stripe.

Boston College (9-19, 2-13 ACC) was held to under 39 percent shooting in the loss, but freshman Ky Bowman led all scorers with 24 points. Leading scorer Jerome Robinson eclipsed the 20-point mark for the seventh time in ACC play with 21 points.

Both teams will be in action again on Saturday. Boston College will play its final home game of the season against Virginia Tech. FSU will visit Clemson.
