Florida State is hot once again, winning three straight games by an average margin of 30 points. The Seminoles have already eclipsed their win total from last season at 21-4 and look to be a lock for their first NCAA Tournament appearance in five years.

The seed and region where Florida State is currently projected has some range among prognosticators, but three of the five currently have FSU taking on Florida Gulf Coast in Orlando.

CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm and USA Today’s Shelby Mast each have FSU taking on Florida Gulf Coast in the No. 2 vs. 15 match-up in brackets released Friday. Palm has the Seminoles in the South Region while Mast’s bracket shows FSU in the Midwest.

In the latest bracket released Friday from ESPN’s Joe Lunardi, the Seminoles and Eagles are also in the Midwest Region, but in the No. 3 vs. 14 match-up. Lunardi is the only bracketologist who currently has Florida State lower than a No. 2 seed.

In a bracket released Thursday, NBC Sports’ Dave Ommen has FSU penciled in as a No. 2 seed in the South Region. Ommen has the Seminoles taking on No. 15 seed and projected Patriot League champion Bucknell in Orlando. In a bracket released Tuesday — prior to FSU’s win over N.C. State — SB Nation’s Chris Dobbertean pits the second-seeded Seminoles in Orlando against projected Southern Conference champion Furman, a No. 15 seed, in the East Region.

FSU will look to maintain or build upon its current seeding on Saturday as it heads to South Bend to take on Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish are listed as a No. 6 seed by four of the five experts and as a No. 7 seed by the other.
