It’s a new week, Florida State fans. We hope your weekend went well. For those of you off to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, enjoy your day off. For those of you at work, we’ll get you through this Monday by updating the news and notes section to bring you the latest in FSU athletics.

Lead Story

After adding defensive end Tre Lawson earlier in the day, Florida State landed a long snapper on Sunday night as Tallahassee product Grant Glennon committed to the Seminoles.

An Under Armour All-American, Glennon is listed at 6-3 and 220 pounds. Though he’s a class of 2017 recruit, Glennon will grayshirt, which means he won’t join the team until January 2018, according to a report from 247Sports’ Chris Nee.

Glennon will likely compete to be the replacement for Stephen Gabbard, who will be a senior next season. Glennon is the 21st class of 2017 prospect to commit to FSU thus far. The Seminoles currently have the No. 5 overall class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Between the Lines

Florida State’s men’s tennis team fell to Georgia State in the championship match of the Florida State Invitational, 4-2. FSU’s women’s basketball team blew out Clemson, 86-27.

On the Agenda

FSU’s women’s tennis team will be in New York to take on Columbia.

News and Notes

FSU coaches will do an in-home visit with 2017 tight end commit Alexander Marshall.

FSU running back commit Khalan Laborn is now listed as a 5-star prospect by Rivals.

Florida State fell one spot in the men’s basketball AP Poll to No. 10. FSU dropped two spots to 12th in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

The FSU women remained seventh in AP Poll.
