Lead Story
Florida State’s women’s basketball team’s school-record tying winning streak is over. The No. 6 Seminoles lost on their home floor Monday night to N.C. State, 70-61.
Forward Chelsea Nelson was unstoppable for the Wolfpack, finishing 8-for-10 from the floor with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Dominique Wilson was just 2-for-12, but made all 14 free throws to lead N.C. State with 19 points. Leticia Romero scored 20 points to lead FSU.
The Seminoles led 49-46 at the end of three quarters, but went stone cold in the final period, shooting just 4-for-16 as a team. N.C. State shot 7-for-12 in the final quarter and 2-for-3 from deep to outscore FSU 24-12 over the last 10 minutes.
The loss snaps FSU’s 12-game winning streak, which tied a school-record. The Seminoles will be in action again Thursday at North Carolina.
Between the Lines
FSU’s loss to N.C. State in women’s hoops was the only FSU athletic event on the schedule.
On the Agenda
There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Tuesday.

4-star linebacker Levi Jones announced his top 5 schools on Monday night and will make a decision on National Signing Day. The five schools listed were FSU, Florida, Texas A&M, UCLA and USC.
FSU guard Dwayne Bacon was named the ACC Player of the Week after averaging 26 points in two games to start ACC play.
