FSU Football: Players with Holiday-Themed Names

Ho, ho, ho. Rather than spending Christmas Day breaking down key match-ups for the Capital One Orange Bowl against No. 6 Michigan or looking back on the history of Florida State in the Orange Bowl or the 2016 season, we decided to have some fun.

Without further ado, here are some Florida State players with holiday, Christmas in particular, themed names:

Wilson Bell, G
The right guard for Florida State, Wilson Bell might not do much jingling. During his redshirt year of 2013 however, Bell did get a ring.

Demarcus Christmas, DT
It doesn’t get more holiday-themed than this. During the latter parts of the 2016 season however, Christmas didn’t bring much joy or cheer to opposing offenses.

Dalvin Cook, RB
Cooking is something a lot of people for the Christmas holidays and the FSU junior running back has been burning defenses all season. With likely one game left in his career, we’ll see what the Cook has planned for that Orange Bowl.

Ryan Green, RB and Marquez White, CB
All we’re missing when it comes to holiday colors is red. I guess you could throw in walk-on guard Keith Weeks or former ball boy “Red Lightning”.

Caleb Holley, DT
Walk-on defensive lineman Caleb Holley hasn’t really decked anyone this season, but the Christmas-themed name was too good to leave off the list.

Cole Minshew, G
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s spelled Cole instead of “Coal”, but since being inserted into the lineup in November, Minshew has been putting lumps in the chest and midsection of opposing defensive linemen. In Minshew’s two starts, FSU is averaging nearly 300 yards per game rushing.

Derrick Nnadi, DT
The FSU junior defensive tackle has been “Nnadi” and not nice to opposing offensive linemen, quarterbacks and ball-carriers this season. That’s especially true of the latter parts of the year.

Nick Patti, LB
Nick Patti hasn’t played a huge role this season, but Nick was certainly saintly early in the season by filling in to help a position that sorely lacked depth.

Travis Rudolph, WR
No one has been laughing or calling this Rudolph names as the junior is on the verge of being FSU’s leading receiver for a second straight season. That might be even better than leading a sleigh.

Jesus “Bobo” Wilson, WR
The first names may be pronounced a bit different, but the spelling is the same as the one whose birth is celebrated on Christmas Day. Wilson wouldn’t be classified as a savior for FSU this season, but he was perhaps the team’s most reliable receiver before going down with a season-ending foot injury in mid-October.
