It’s Christmas Eve, Florida State fans. While we want you to enjoy the holidays with your families, we’ll do our best to keep you up to date on the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

A little over a week ago, Florida State’s 2017 recruiting class was fighting just to stay in the top 15. Now, the Seminoles are in the top 10.

The latest news came Friday night as 5-star defensive end Joshua Kaindoh committed to FSU. A former Maryland commitment, Kaindoh is the No. 21 ranked player in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the second-best player at his position.

With Kaindoh bound for Tallahassee, the Seminoles now have the seventh ranked class in the country for 2017 and the top class in the ACC. Kaindoh joins cornerback Stanford Samuels as the only two 5-stars of the class. FSU however, is considered very much alive for running back Cam Akers and defensive tackle Marvin Wilson.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Friday.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Saturday.

News and Notes

Flipper the Dolphin at the Miami Seaquarium has picked Michigan to beat FSU in the Capital One Orange Bowl. The dolphin is 5-0 when predicting Orange Bowls.

The average ticket price for the Orange Bowl is more than last year’s game between Oklahoma and Clemson, which was a national semifinal. It’s also more than the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl between Ohio State and Clemson — one of this year’s semifinals.
