It’s the weekend, Florida State fans. The slate isn’t too heavy, but we’re one day from a big rivalry match-up on the basketball court. We’ll keep you posted on the latest in FSU athletics by updating the news and notes throughout the day.

Lead Story

Rosters for the Under Armor High School All-American game were unveiled on Friday and the contest will feature three players committed to Florida State.

Khalan Laborn, a 4-star running back from Virginia Beach, will play for Team Armor. Laborn is the No. 2 all-purpose back in the country, according to 247Sports’ Composite rankings and the No. 42 overall player.

Stanford Samuels, a 5-star cornerback from South Florida, and Cyrus Fagan, a 4-star from Daytona Beach, will get a chance to develop a rapport in the secondary as both will play for Team Highlight. Other FSU targets participating in the game include defensive end Josh Kaindoh and defensive tackle Marvin Wilson.

The contest will take place on New Year’s Day at Camping World Stadium in Orlando at 1 p.m. and will air on ESPN.

Between the Lines

FSU’s men’s tennis team continued to host the Tallahassee Futures Tournament. The FSU volleyball team’s season ended with a 4-set loss to Stanford in the NCAA Tournament on Friday.

On the Agenda

The FSU men’s tennis team continues to host the Tallahassee Futures Tournament. The FSU women’s basketball team will visit UAB.

News and Notes

Former FSU guard and current Denver Nugget Malik Beasley has been sent to the NBDL with the Sioux Falls SkyForce. Beasley was averaging less than three points in six games this season.
