It’s the start of December, Florida State fans. For the Seminoles, that means wrapping up non-conference play on the hardwood and a bowl game on the gridiron. We’ll keep you up to date on the latest in FSU athletics throughout the month and into the new year. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Two nights after Florida State’s men’s basketball team beat Minnesota in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in Tallahassee, the FSU women did likewise in Minneapolis with a 75-61 victory on Wednesday night.

The Seminoles shot 68 percent in the first half and 7-for-9 from downtown to take a 56-38 lead into the locker room. From there, things never really got interesting as the Seminoles cruised to victory.

Nicole Ekhomu led FSU with 16 points on a perfect 6-for-6 shooting while Ivey Slaughter added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Chatrice White and Imani Wright scored 13 and 11, respectively. Kenisha Bell led the Golden Gophers with a game-high 17 points.

With the win, No. 8 FSU improves to 7-1 on the season. The Seminoles will be in action again at home on Sunday against Western Carolina.
