Florida State volleyball won the final two sets Wednesday to down Clemson at home, 25-16, 24-26, 25-17, 25-17.
Katie Horton recorded another double-double for the Seminoles with 14 kills and 15 digs. FSU’s Milica Kubura led all players with 18 kills while Mara Green added 14 in the victory. Cecilie Woie had a match-high 16 digs in the win. Tori Woogk and Leah Perri each recorded 14 kills to lead Clemson.
With the win, FSU improved to 23-5 on the year and 15-3 in ACC play. The Seminoles conclude the regular season Friday at home against Georgia Tech.
Between the Lines
Outside of FSU’s volleyball victory, there were no FSU athletic events on Wednesday.
On the Agenda
Both the FSU men’s and women’s basketball teams will be in action on Thursday. The FSU men will face Temple in the NIT Season Tip-Off semifinals in Brooklyn at 12:30 p.m. EST on ESPNU. The FSU women will take on Winthrop in the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands. That contest begins at 5:45 p.m. EST and streams on FloHoops.
News and Notes
Florida head coach Jim McElwain said offensive lineman Martez Ivey is doubtful for Saturday’s contest at Florida State.
Former FSU running back Karlos Williams is facing a 10-game NFL suspension for a second violation of the league’s substance abuse policy. Williams was drafted by the Buffalo Bills prior to last season, but was recently signed to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ practice squad.
FSU fell to Temple in the first NIT Season-Tip Off semifinal on Thursday, 89-86. The Seminoles let an 18-point slip away in the loss.
