Florida State is no stranger to seeing players named ACC Freshman of the Week. Last season, Dwayne Bacon and Malik Beasley routinely won the award.

On Monday, Jonathan Isaac got the nod for the first time after averaging 16 points, seven rebounds and a steal in three FSU victories. Isaac notched his first 20-point game in Tuesday’s win over Iona and is coming off his first career double-double against Detroit Mercy with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

During the 3-game stretch, Isaac has shot 58 percent from the field and 46 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. A highly-touted 6-10 freshman, Isaac is one of only two Seminoles to score in double-figures every game. The other is sophomore Dwayne Bacon.

The competition will ramp up this week for Isaac and the Seminoles as the team will take on Temple on Thursday and then either Illinois or West Virginia on Friday in Brooklyn. For the season, Isaac is averaging 14.5 points and a team-high 6 rebounds.
