For the first time this season, Florida State is ranked in the men’s basketball polls.

The Seminoles entered the AP Poll at No. 25 on Monday. FSU went a perfect 3-0 this past week, beating Iona, Winthrop and Detroit Mercy at home. The Seminoles are also a perfect 4-0 for the season.

FSU is ranked for the first team since coming in at No. 25 in the 2012-13 preseason AP Poll and 24th in the Coaches Poll. The Seminoles were entering that season fresh off their first ACC title, but lost to South Alabama in the season-opener and had not been ranked since.

The competition will ramp up a bit this week as FSU heads to the Barclay’s Center to face Temple on Thursday and then either West Virginia or Illinois on Friday. West Virginia was No. 19 in this week’s AP Poll.

FSU received 20 votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll. That was sixth most among teams who failed to make the top 25.
