A handful of Florida State commitments were in action for playoff games on Friday night, but one’s victory may have been bittersweet.

DeMarco Artis, a 3-star linebacker for Seminole High School in Sanford, injured his knee during Friday’s 48-41 victory over Lake Brantley, according to a source. The extent of the injury is not known, but if it is significant, Artis could possibly be forced into a redshirt next season at FSU.

Originally a UCF commitment, Artis flipped to FSU in early August. Artis is listed as one of the top 100 prospects in Florida by the 247Sports Composite rankings.

5-star FSU cornerback commit Stanford Samuels III saw his high school career end last night as Flanagan High School from Hollywood fell to Deerfield Beach 10-7, but Samuels had a good night on the defensive end. Matched up with 5-star receiver and Alabama commitment Jerry Jeudy, Samuels dominated the night — at least on defense.

Jeudy did intercept Samuels, who also plays quarterback, and returned it for a touchdown. Samuels, the son of former FSU cornerback Stanford Samuels, has been a hard commitment to the Seminoles since June.
