After plenty of preseason hype and another stellar season, Florida State junior running back Dalvin Cook was among 10 semifinalists for the Doak Walker Award which goes annually to the nation’s top back.
For the season, Cook has 1,242 yards rushing, 400 yards receiving and 14 total touchdowns. Cook is just 19 rushing yards away from breaking Warrick Dunn’s all-time mark at FSU. Cook is also just three touchdowns shy of tying Greg Allen’s career record for total touchdowns.
Other semifinalists included Stanford’s Christian McCaffery, LSU’s Leonard Fournette and San Diego State’s Donnel Pumphrey. The Seminoles will be in action at Syracuse on Saturday.

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Wednesday.
On the Agenda
FSU’s women’s basketball team will host Jacksonville on Thursday night. The contest starts at 6 p.m. EST and can be seen on ACC Network Extra.

Pro Football Focus has FSU running back Dalvin Cook going 10th overall to the Tampa Buccaneers in its NFL Mock Draft.
FSU is in the top 8 for 2018 tight end prospect Zack Kuntz. A Pennsylvania product, Kuntz is the top rated tight end, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings and the No. 50 overall prospect.
Legendary FSU head football coach Bobby Bowden had a pacemaker installed this week.
FSU cornerback Tarvarus McFadden is a finalist for the Nagurski Trophy. The award is annually given to the nation’s best defensive player.
FSU running back Dalvin Cook was among 15 semifinalists for the Walter Camp Award, which is annually given to the nation’s best player.
