Happy hump day, Florida State fans. Until Friday, the week will be pretty slow for FSU athletics, but we won’t let you miss anything. Keep it here as we update the news and notes section throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State was ranked 22nd at the first release of the College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday night. As is the case with the AP and Amway Coaches Poll, the Seminoles are the only 3-loss team currently ranked.

The No. 22 ranking is three spots below where FSU is in each of the traditional polls. Alabama topped the poll, followed by Clemson, Michigan and to the surprise of many, Texas A&M. The 7-1 Aggies came in one spot ahead of undefeated Washington, who ranked fifth.

FSU was one of five ACC teams ranked in the poll. Clemson was second while Louisville was seventh. Virginia Tech came in at No. 19 while North Carolina is ranked 21st.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Tuesday.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Wednesday.

News and Notes

According to the newest FSU depth chart, junior Ermon Lane is now listed as a co-starter with safety Trey Marshall. Marshall will miss the first half of Saturday’s game against N.C. State after being ejected for targeting against Clemson last week.
