Saturday night didn’t turn out as Florida State had hoped as the Seminoles fell to No. 3 Clemson at home, 37-34. Clemson tight end Jordan Leggett scored the game-winning touchdown with 2:06 on a 34-yard pass from Deshaun Watson to secure the victory.

Though FSU couldn’t get the win, it fought hard and a number of Seminoles played well in the loss. The Daily Nole staff of editor Mike Ferguson, lead writer Clint Eiland, recruiting analyst Jay Brading and contributors T.J. Pittinger and Robert Blackburn hand out their game balls:

Offense

Unanimous Game Ball: Dalvin Cook, RB
Florida State may have come up on the short end of the scoreboard on Saturday night, but it had nothing to do with junior running back Dalvin Cook. Cook rushed for 169 yards and four touchdowns on just 19 carries as he became just the second Seminole to rush for 1,000 yards in three straight seasons. Cook scored from 4, 43, 70 and eight yards out in the loss. Cook also caught two passes for 15 yards.

Defense

Mike, Clint, Jay, Robert: Derrick Nnadi, DT
Florida State defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi was a man possessed on Saturday for the Seminoles. Nnadi finished the night with eight tackles, two for loss, a sack and a pass break-up. Nnadi was virtually unblockable in a losing effort.

T.J.: Tarvarus McFadden, CB
Sophomore cornerback Tarvarus McFadden continues to have a solid season for FSU. On Saturday night, McFadden had his FBS-leading sixth interception in the third quarter, which led to an FSU touchdown. McFadden also had a tackle for loss in the defeat.

Special Teams

Unanimous Game Ball: Logan Tyler, P
The numbers weren’t great for FSU punter Logan Tyler as he averaged less than 38 yards per punt on Saturday night, but only one was returned and that one went for minus eight yards. Tyler had a long of 51 yards when it came to punting, but five of his six kickoffs went for touchbacks.
